There aren't many films that I've seen twice in the cinema. LotR 1, yes. The first three Star Wars films (but the second time was the updated reissues). That's probably about it. This film's worth it, though - the anticipation when a scene you know is coming actually arrives is great, and the four main stars are great. Johnny Depp plays his part with such brio that it's a joy to see. Geoffrey Rush is delightfully repellant. Orlando Bloom is almost enough to make me swoon, despite me being straight. But that doesn't matter, since Keira Knightly is utterly gorgeous too.
Amazingly, she was still 17 when she filmed it! She's going to be unbearably beautiful in ten years time. In contrast, Depp is actually old enough to be her father, almost 22 years older than she is, yet if the main relationship had been between them, it would have been believable.
