On our company Christmas do menu: Roasted Butternut Squash Cappuccino with nutmeg and crème fraiche.

And no, they don't appear to mean Carpaccio.

Embed it in resin and sell it to the Tate Modern.

"Ew!" because it sounds disgusting?

In retrospect, I'm guessing it's a brownish mousse served in a tall glass dish, with creme fraiche on top and a sprinkling of nutmeg on top of that. I'm now worrying that I'm channelling Ready Steady Cook.

Sounds interesting.
Doing cappucino-lookalike desserts and starters is very much an in thing.

Yeah, but coffee creme brulee in a cup filled to the rim with the charred top just poking up is really really good.

I was going to suggest something mousselike. Roast butternut's quite sweet, I reckon it'll work well.

Just saw this - it usually means a small amount of soup served in a small cup as a pre starter - was it? (Carpacio of squash to me sopunds much nastier!)

To be honest, come the meal, I wasn't looking. So I don't know if anyone else actually ordered it.

Since it was meant to be a full starter (up against things like deep-fried goats cheese), I suspect it was (or would have been) a bit large than a pre-starter.
