Subject: Putting the Abyss into Abyssinia

It's two weeks on, and rather sadly, we think our cat Talia is not missing Kosh at all.

Indeed, we think she may actually be slightly happier without him around. Being twice her weight, he did tend to dominate a bit, and if he wanted attention, then he got it. If she was sitting where he wanted to, well, she'd just have to wriggle out from under.

She's certainly enjoying being on proper tasty catfood again.

Good for Talia.

Little, however, is still wandering up to where she last saw Big and then coming up to M or me and giving us a very hard stare. We're noticing that she's very lively, but that may be in comparison with the sick cat.

I'm assuming she's still getting used to the change in her environment, tho' I'm not sure it counts as grief in our terms.

As uitlander says above, they're not wired the same as us. But I really would have expected a little more effect on Talia now that the fellow cat who, even if not a litter-mate, was there right from her birth, is gone.
