Eh? I thought it was about screwing up your opponent's wifi with a microwave to get more headshots?

Would I be right if I assume that you get the strip itself via RSS or similar, rather than visiting the XKCD page iteslf?

Nope, went to the site. Did a shift-F5 just to be sure it was up to date. And checked the previous couple just in case it was earlier. The one titled 'Nachos'?

How odd. What I see is that strip - but the rest of the page is pure GeoCities in style, complete with apparently broken HTML, 'Under Construction' banner, and so on.

(Are you even getting 'xkcd - A Webcomic - Nachos - HOSTED BY GEOCITIES' as the title?)

Ah, no, everything except the strip, to be honest.

(Though the stick figures wouldn't be totally out of place on a genuine GC page. Except for the fact it has actual wit and humour.)

And yet somehow it fails to really deliver the full horror of a GeoCities site... :)

I don't check that webcomic often, has the site itself been redesigned to look like a late 90s personal site with loads of banners and flashy graphics and blink and marquee text? Or did it always look like that? :)

No, it's today only (I hope). Pure GeoCities at its worst, scrolling marquees, blink tags, cycling background bitmap, the lot.

I wonder how long it took to do that intentionally.

Looking at the page source is hilarious, with such as

INT MAIN(VOID)
{
    COUT << "\

and

<SCRIPT LANGUAGE="QBASIC">IF $BROWSER = "IE" THEN GOTO 50</SCRIPT>
