Outside, the daffodils are wilting in the heat. That is just so wrong: they should have come earlier (but the snow didn't go till late) and have had time to flower and seed before the heat arrives.

(It's 22C out there. If it weren't for the lack of any leaves on many of the trees visible, I'd be able to say it is summer.)

Oh, so *you've* got the sun, eh? I wondered where it went. I was up at three am to take The Blonde to the airport and returned at five, listening to the lady on Classic fm telling us it would be the hottest day of the year at 22'C.

As the clouds have not broken since, I somehow doubt it.

Yep, we've got it. I'd be very happy to share it with you westerners, as over here on the edge of the eastern hemisphere, we're not used to this.

ETA: It's a monsoon. I've just seen a cat float down the street!

A cat?!

Makes a change from the cars one sees in normal floods.

A cat!

It was taken unawares by the sudden downpour and had attempted to hide under a car when it was hit by a flash-flood. Poor soggy moggy!

I'd tell you what it is like up here in Northumberland, but I can't see through the mist.
