The turkey is in the oven.

It's a free range bird, boneless, stuffed with duck and pheasant as well as wild mushrooms and garlic. If it works like the Ballotine we had last year (and it should), then it'll be cooked some time after midnight.

Not really - it needs cooking, then cooling, then returning (in slices) to the oven on Christmas day itself.

That's what we did last year. And it does slice easier when it's been chilled.
