Subject: Fake cops about?
Security: Public
I passed a cop car on the way to work this morning.

Not that unusual, perhaps, especially for someone who lives by the back entrance to our local police station, except that somehow I don't think this particular cop car was a real one.

For one, it didn't have the Hertfordshire Constabulary livery, nor even the neighbouring Cambridgeshire equivalent (we're about a mile from the county border). No, the county that it claimed affiliation to was Hazzard County.

Yeeha!

(I suspect it was this one.)

I wouldn't worry about it unless you drive a 69 Dodge Charger.

And an orange one at that.

Nope, I don't think a 06 silver MG can be mistaken for that.

Can't speak for Hertfordshire, but where I come from we have enough cops who are just as zealous and incompetent as Sheriff Rosco P. Coltrane, and we're not short of rednecks either. Sadly there are very few of them who can wear a pair of shorts like Daisy, and all the spoilers and LEDs and Max Power stickers on the cars don't make them anywhere near as cool as the General Lee, even if their occupants can execute handbrake turns just like the Dukes. There is, however, at least one lorry in this town fitted with air horns that play "Dixie".
