Well, we didn't get to see the Aurorae in Royston, but it looks like there may be another chance, according to this BBC report.

The biggest solar flare ever recorded, It was so energetic that it overloaded the detectors on satellites monitoring the Sun's surface.

I'm very glad I'm not on the ISS this week.

Hopefully, ISS has a "storm cellar", they've (after all) been a mainstay of SF dealing with xetraplanetary activity for Quite A While.
